Council Questions

One of the things that Councillors get to do is ask up to three written questions of those who run Croydon Council at the 6 meetings of the Full Council each year.

For information, my questions are below. It annoys me considerably that i cant find answers to questions that I have asked over the last 9 years as a councillor. To find questions and answers you have to download unsearchable PDF files. The other two questions are ward issues. I will post the answers after the next Council meeting.

1)

Heavers Meadow is a tranquil, green oasis, opposite Selhurst Railway Station and leading to Tennison Road. Will the Cabinet member give consideration to improving the entrances to the meadow with clear signage, proper fencing and the provision of more than one bench (seat) in the whole Meadow?

2)

Residents on Henderson Road are subject to regular fly tipping and are not provided with wheeled bins like other council tax paying residents. What steps will the Cabinet member take to ensure that these residents receive the same level of service as other residents that they pay for and expect from the Council? What arrangements will the Council put in place for these properties if you move to fortnightly refuse collections?

3)

With the increasing emphasis on open and transparent government, both by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government and by residents, Will the council look urgently at upgrading its recording and publishing of Questions, petitions, motions and Freedom of Information Requests (FOI). to enable them to be searchable by topic, key word, cabinet member, ward and questioner?
