Dumped rubbish on the rise

The Council decided to get rid of its team of street scene officers as part of a review early this year. Street scene officers were the silent ears and eyes of the council spotting dumped rubbish, checking up of contractors and following up any street related environmental issues like oil on the road and blocked drains. As a councillor I found our local officer a brilliant resource. Often he would have already spotted a problem before I or a resident had.

The latest reports that I have sent in relate to dumped rubbish on Tugela Road and Elmwood Road.

With his departure and the other street scene officers it is now up to residents to report issues as soon as they see them.

The easiest way to do this is to use the Croydon Council on-line form or to call the Council on 020 8726 7100

alternatively use an online service like http://www.fixmystreet.com/ you can download their app for the iPhone, android or Nokia
